I'm back from the dead, where was I and what have I been doing?

Morning, everyone. Apologies for my absence, I didn't end up posting multiple times this month as I hopped. summer has been interesting. Regardless, I have an update about my art and life! Besides relaxing and discovering my new favorite book (The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, of course), I have actually been working on the piece I talked about last post, so I'm not fully out of the game.

The first work in my Dynamic Duo summer assignment is an extension of my head piece, where I am continuing to explore themes of conformity and gender roles through a somewhat art nouveau style. Today, I actually finally finished the line art, and will soon be moving on to the painting phase.

I have had some difficulty with the work so far, such as shaky line art and the pain that is drawing the same person three times, but I have enjoyed the process so far. Funny story, when I went to buy the pens I needed for the line art, the first package I bought came with the wrong type of pens. I mean that in the sense that the packaging said one thing, but the pens were entirely the incorrect kinds. I got the pens I needed eventually, so it's fine, but it's pretty frustrating anyways.

For the second artwork, I know it will be an extension of my 2D to 3D piece, but I'm not yet sure of what I want to do with it. I can go the lazy route and just make a larger, more elaborate mask of a god, or I could do something completely out of left field as an homage to my favorite mythological characters. Unsurprisingly, Dionysus is my favorite Greek god since they're the embodiment of sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll, but I am playing with the idea of depicting someone else like Prometheus or even a biblical figure.
